Celebrities Poll- Why were YOU shocked by Adam Lambert’s AMA Performance?
As a former Glambert, I must say I was not that shocked by the makeout (all though that was a main factor) but here are my reasons-
1. His voice was terrible. He sounded like his voice was coming out of his nose, and sounded a TON better on American Idol.
2. He sold out. Everyone is going crazy about the edgy crap like Lady Gaga and stuff just to get attention for his Album. Didn’t he already have enough attention? I don’t even like him anymore, and I used to LOVE HIM SOOO much…. =(
3. He seems like he only cares what he thinks. It was not for ‘our’ Entertainment like the weak song he performed “For Your Entertainment”. Many of his fans and supporters were NOT entertained at all.
4. He is letting fame get to his head. It’s obvious. Why else would he come out (as a brand new artist) already stepping five thousand steps TOO far. He’s new. New people don’t do what he did. They just don’t. Britney and Madonna were already big when they kissed at some award’s show. It was when his first Album wasn’t even released at that moment, and it was his first live performance by himself out of the A.I. Franchise. I am not a fan anymore.
5. His obvious love of sex is unhealthy. Enough said there. Have you seen the performance?
6. His look at the end of the performance didn’t melt me like it usually does, it made me want to puke. Adam usually has those looks that look SOOO sexy, but it was SOOOO awful. He looked like a frickin ugly rat. Just, ugh!!!!

I wasn’t really shocked just disgusted but…he made me throw up in my mouth when he was on american idol anyways. Didn’t figure it would be any different now. I pretty much knew he was gonna go all attention whorish first chance he got..
I was the most shocked when he started rolling around on the stage when he fell.
1. I agree, his voice did not sound good. He was just screaming the whole time.
2. He’s officially an attention whore, just like Gaga is. Sometimes less is more.
3. Yeah, I felt like he was just trying to prove a point with his performance. Most people are not talking about the kiss, but how inappropriate the whole dancers head in his crotch was.
4. He took it too far for his first major performance as a solo artist. He needs to take it down a notch. He should have saved this Performance for MTV, it was way too raunchy for ABC.

6. The intense close shot of his face at the end was a failed attempt at looking fierce.
Frankly, Jermaine was more suprised about TAYLOR SWIFT of all people beating Michael Jackson to Artist of the Year Award. What a joke.
Ahem. Anyway. Wasn’t a great vocal, slightly controversial performance and indeed he did go a bit overkill on the sexual side of things. But I agree with what he said about there being a double standard… sort of anyway. The kiss was not neccessary though. Hey ho- all will be forgotten in a bit and you’ll most likely go back to being a ‘Glambert’.

I wasn’t shocked at the performance itself – my two best friends are gay so nothing really shocks me at this point, but I don’t think it was a good move for him this early into the game. It WAS inappropriate. By being so promiscious, he really is alienating his more conservative audience of fans, and when you’re just embarking on your career you want to appeal to as many people as possible. I mean, sure – he got everyone talking, but I don’t think it was a wise career move. We’ll see though.
