Adam starred in Los Angeles’ version of the broadway play Wicked. Doesnt that mean he’s already in the business? Dont get me wrong, im not dissing Adam or anything. Another thing is that he recorded a track for America’s Best Dance crew, and Randy Jackson produces it. Now Joanna Pacitti got kicked out because she was close to a producer of the show, do you think Adam and Randy are tight???

I don;t see a problem with it. They let that kind of stuff go on all the time. As far as being connected to Randy I guess they don’t consider that as conflict of interest like they do having business dealings with the AI production company.
They have never clarified AI to be an amateur contest. they just can’t be really established. I think it’s kind of crappy for him to even try out, though, when you consider he was probably already going to be a big success.
Actually, the rules are that you just can’t have a current record contract that you’re already obligated to by law. There have been some contestants in the past who have had past record deals, but they were still eligible because the record companies folded or they got dropped,or something. But Adam never even had a record deal. He couldn’t get one, so that’s why he had to do theater in the first place, I’m presuming. But I guess he doesn’t want to do theater forever, he wants to be an actual professional singer who records CDs and tours, and everything, which is entirely different. I don’t even consider theater to be professional, myself. I see it as more of a launching pad for a career in music, much like American Idol is.So I think he deserves to be there just as much as anyone else, if not more because he’s been out there busting his butt for so many years trying to make it. It shows dedication and shows that he really wants it. I think people deserve as many chances as they’re willing to take and I hope it finally pays off for him.
No, he’s not technically professional in the context of being a professional singer. He’s a professional stage actor. They are not the same thing. He has not have (and I could be wrong, but I don’t believe he’s ever had) a record contract. Even if he had one at one time, he would not be disqualified as long as he was no longer obligated to honor it.
I dont’ think there is any bias on Randy’s part toward Adam. I don’t think it’s that unusual for people involved in the show to use the talent they discover in other projects. That’s the whole purpose of Idol–to find undiscovered talent and make money off of them. It’s what Simon does with his British show as well, so I don’t think there’s any bias.
Now if the judges voted instead of America, then I might be concerned.
Hmmm yea now that you mention it i agree! He is professional! I knew he couldnt have not already done something with that amazing crazy voice of his..Wow that is pretty true;)
