Paul Rodger’s quitting QUEEN?!?
I just found out that Paul Rodgers is quitting Queen. I think that they should get Michael Johns or Adam Lambert from American Idol to sing for them. What do you think?

Okay, I don’t want them to replace Freddie because that’s impossible and Adam Lambert is not gay.
They are not trying to replace Freddie. That’s why they didn’t include Paul Rodgers in the name Queen they have it Queen plus Paul Rodgers. They specifically said that they didn’t want him to be part of Queen and that they didn’t want to replace Freddie.

About the only thing they have in common is sexual preference… and that is no basis to pick a singer. Adam does not possess 1/10th the talent of Mercury.
Maybe it’s time to go in a completely DIFFERENT direction…. realizing, that much like there was no Beatles without Lennon, there is no Queen without Freddie.
I never liked Rodgers in that role, and I have yet to hear another singer with the raw talent, AND the showmanship to even attempt it.
I say they should do like the Dead… and not even try to be Queen…find a different singer, different style and create something new.

I don’t really care, actually. I like Queen and all that jazz but their hayday was decades ago.
Bad Company was one thing but Rodgers filling in for Freddie was another thing entirely. I always thought of it like when Van Halen attempted to replace Sammy Hagar with Gary Cherone. It worked in the sense that they had a vocalist. He just couldn’t fill the character void.
Yep the American Idle kidz should have nothing to do with an institution like Queen. They oughta go get George Michael. He more than proved himself at the Freddie Tribute show from years ago, when he nailed Somebody to Love. Oh well, hopefully they won’t go the game show route like that ‘supergroup’ Rockstar Supernova, which picked its singer ala American Idle.

They need to let Queen go. No Freddie, no Queen, its that simple. If they want to keep playing and performing then they should creat a Super Group with a different name. Trust me, it will be a lot better received by the fans than trying to keep the band name and attempt to replace Freddie

NO ONE should replace Rodgers except Justin Hawkins from The Darkness, He’s PERFECT for Queen. And surely not some Lame-Os from American Vomitfestival.
Isn’t it great? Paul Rodgers never was a good fit for Queen. We should all write Brian in care of brianmay.com and TELL him we want George Michael. He did Freddie’s song, “Somebody To Love” so proud at the tribute. If they are going to get another singer they should at least get somebody who can sing the Songs!
