Was it really necessary for Adam Lambert to make it ‘official’?
I think most people knew already lol. I know that I did. It’s no big deal. And why is he saying that he doesn’t believe in doing the “secret” thing? He kept mum all through the Idol show about it. That’s the same as keeping it secret. And I just caught the end of a News story that said who he is dating but didn’t hear who it was. Who is it? Another celeb? He said that he had a crush on Kris. Maybe that’s why he wasn’t mad that Kris won lol.
Well it’s kind of bad for him if indeed, people didn’t vote for him because they thought he might be gay. He could have been out of the closet sooner in that case. Clay Aikens was gay too. People didn’t need to hear him say it. Idol needs to just come into the 21st century where gays live. They’re among us, and there’s nothing we can do about it but share the country with them. They are citizens too.

Yeah I think it was necessary to make it official. It confirmed speculations about his sexuality.
He didn’t say anything about his sexual orientation during the show cos he didn’t want it to affect people’s views of him as a singer.
I agree with Onion.
I didn’t know about his crush on Kris Allen! probably b/c I stopped keeping up w/ the show shortly after the auditions.. it’s cute though :]
After months of reading questions on this site about Adam Lambert, his questionable sexuality and responses of denial from his die hard fans–I guess many will feel it was necessary. It is, after all 2009, and celebrities can not possibly have a life that is some what private away from their fans and the paparazzi so it was bound to come out anyway. This way Adam did it on his terms and not being pressured by certain gay bloggers to speak out.
