I was hoping Tasha Layton would have made it but she didn’t make the cut. She was the personal assistant and worship pastor from the Los Angeles auditions. I’m wondering if it was because she was a pastor that she didn’t make the cut. The other worship pastor (the guy with 3 kids) didn’t make it neither. Both are very talented.
Last year in 2009. the final 3 were 2 pastors and the gay guy Adam Lambert. Adam Lambert clearly had the most talent but Kris Allen had too much likeability and he won. Even Kris Allen couldn’t believe he had the most votes. It was like Christian Idol v. Gay Idol. I’m think the judges are going to avoid that this year by not having any pastors in the top 24. What do you guys think?
The Top 24 are http://americanidolnet.com/american-idol-2010-the-top-24/
BTW. It’s the judges who decide on the Top 24. I’m not sure at which point America starts voting. Is it when it reaches the Top 12?
There are a few websites that are already announcing the Top 24. The auditions that you see now on TV are from months ago. They are being aired now. Everything is taped in advance until you get to the live shows. That is how it has always been.

how do you know who made the top 24 already?
Umm yeah…how the heck do you know this first of all? I’m sure that American Idol is very careful not to leak any information. Especially like this! And as to your question addressing the issue with the top three last year, I don’t think that the judges really have in mind the professions of the singers when they pick the top 24. It’s the people who vote who stays and who goes anyway so it’s not like the judges can really control that. But the judges not letting any pastors get into the top 24 just because they’re pastors doesn’t sound like something that the judges would really be concerned with.
I am sure it doesn’t matter. The producers of the show cast these things like a normal tv show, then pretend it is a realty/competition. I am sure they are all talened enough and good looking enought to make for good ratings.
I wish Tasha Layton would have made it too. I loved listening to her sing. Her voice freaking moved me. I couldn’t believe that she didn’t make it. I’m glad that short haired bossy controlling woman went home though she was cocky and not very good. Still I think Tasha should try again. Very talented and Very beautiful voice.
